Cosmetic Skin Solutions Supreme Serum CE

I used to be a devoted user of Cosmetic Skin Solutions CE serum that was a near dupe of Skinceuticals CE Ferulic. They stopped making it awhile ago and launched their Supreme Serum CE that they market as having a super low pH level. I didn’t want to try it because to me, super low means way way below a 3.0 and maybe even below 2.0 pH level. So I tested a sample of it and found the pH level to be pretty good. Here is the reading from my pH meter:

I found it to have a pH level of 3.05 using my pH meter. I might try using this Vitamin CE serum in the future. After reading this article, I am interested in using glutathione since it is naturally occurring in the body and the amount you have declines with age.

I know L-Ascorbic acid is very unstable but after reading this article, I think that the vitamin E and citric acid should help stabilize this serum (along with the pH level below 3.5). It is missing ferulic acid but I think I’m okay with that since I’m going to start using a resveratrol serum that includes ferulic acid. More on why you might want include ferulic acid in your skincare routine can be found here.

Lastly, it has been about 10 weeks between the time I tested the pH of the sample so in another couple of weeks, I’ll take a look at it to see if the color has changed. If it isn’t that oxidized then it is probably a sign that it is pretty stable. Of course, if I buy the full-size, I’ll keep it in the fridge.
